I just bummed around at home.
"stayed home"으로 끝내면 심심한 주말이 됩니다. 뒹굴었다의 게으른 느낌은 bum around가 그대로 옮깁니다.
발표 끝나니까 현타 와
Reality just hit me.
현타는 피곤함(burned out)이 아니라 현실 자각입니다. 허탈한 쪽이면 "I feel kind of empty now."
과자가 눅눅해졌어
These chips have gone stale.
바삭함을 잃은 눅눅함은 stale. 젖어서 축축한 눅눅함(빵·수건)은 soggy로 갈립니다.
해장국 먹고 "아, 시원하다"
Ahh, that hits the spot.
온도의 cool이 아니라 속이 풀리는 만족감. hit the spot 한 마디로 끝납니다.
발표하다가 완전 버벅댔어
I totally stumbled through it.
말이 꼬이고 더듬은 버벅댐은 stumble through. 아예 망쳤으면 "I bombed it."
오늘은 좀 그렇고, 다음으로 미루자

약속을 미루는 가장 부드러운 말. 일정 자체를 밀 땐 "Let's push it to next week."
새 팀이라 아직 눈치 보여
I feel like I'm walking on eggshells.
눈치를 '본다'를 직역할 단어가 없습니다. 조심조심 걷는 그림으로 말합니다.
아, 나가기 귀찮아
Ugh, I can't be bothered.
lazy는 성격을 깎습니다. 지금 이 순간의 귀찮음은 can't be bothered나 "I don't feel like it."
그 말 듣고 정 떨어졌어
That was such a turn-off.
사람이든 일이든 마음이 식는 순간은 turn-off. 완전히 끝났으면 "I'm over it."
질문 받자마자 멘붕 왔어
My brain just short-circuited.
패닉이면 "I'm freaking out", 머리가 하얘진 쪽이면 short-circuit이 더 가깝습니다.
외국인 앞에서 할 말이 없어졌어
I just went blank.
할 말이 '없는' 게 아니라 '사라진' 겁니다. go blank가 그 순간을 정확히 집습니다.
야근해서 완전 방전됐어
I'm wiped out from working late.
tired는 너무 약합니다. 방전은 wiped out, 한 방울도 안 남았으면 "I'm running on empty."
